Hi Moms! Staying at AKL with DS (10) and DD (6) in August. What time should I plan on leaving parks for afternoon break ? Are we better off to eat at the park or go back to hotel for quick serve and break/swim in the pool or wait until later in the day.

Hi Lisa!  My kids are younger than yours, but we typically go back to our room for an afternoon break (nap and/or pool time) at about 1:00 p.m.  Sometimes we grab an early lunch at the park and other times we do quick serve at our hotel - it really depends on the day.

Taking an afternoon break is a great idea though.  It allows you to rest and regroup, while missing the largest park crowds.  It's also the hottest time of the day - perfect for a nice swim.

Have a great trip!  I hope you love Animal Kingdom Lodge - my family does!
