Staying at AKL and booked a "savannah" view. Now I've heard there's an "Arusha" savannah view that is supposed to be even better. I can't find it on the map and don't know if I should pay extra for the Arusha... does anyone have an op

Hi Suzanne! It sounds like you are planning for an adventurous Disney vacation! There is just something SO special about waking up in the morning to find giraffes grazing outside your balcony!

There are 3 different savannas at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge: Sunset, Arusha, and Uzima.

Each savanna has its own distinct look and different animal viewing opportunities. For instance, ostriches can only be found on the Sunset savanna, zebras are only located on the Arusha savanna, and kudu are only found on the Uzima savanna. Giraffes are the only animal found on all three savannas.

You are correct that there is an "Arusha View" option when reserving your room and per the Disney website, "Arusha View Rooms offer a view of the Arusha savanna of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge wildlife reserve". Whereas a "Savanna View" room will offer a view of one of the three savannas.

A map of the Animal Kingdom Lodge can be located at this unofficial website: www.wdwinfo.com and then "On Property Resorts" and "Resort Maps".

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney vacation be safari perfect in every way!
