Welcome to planDisney, Martin! How exciting that you're planning to stay at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge next August. There's nothing quite like waking up to the sight of giraffes and zebras right outside your window. It's the most magical way to start your day!
As of right now, there are no announced refurbishments scheduled that would affect major common areas or dining locations like
Boma or
The Mara during your 2026 stay. Both of those are guest favorites, so if you've got your eye on those famous Zebra Domes, you should be in luck.
Currently, refurbishment work is wrapping up at the Zebra Trail terrace at Jambo House, and the
Disney Vacation Club rooms at Kidani Village and Jambo House are on the refurbishment schedule later this fall. That work is expected to be focused on guest rooms and shouldn't have much, if any, impact on common areas, pools, or restaurants. So your vacation should be all smooth sailing!
That said, it's always good to keep in mind that refurbishment schedules are subject to change, especially when you're planning a trip as far out as a year from now. Disney sometimes adjusts plans based on timing, demand, or project progress, so while everything looks clear now, it's worth keeping an eye on the Walt Disney World website as your trip gets closer. Any scheduled work that might impact your stay will be listed on the main page for Animal Kingdom Lodge.
I hope this answers your question, Martin, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
