    we are staying at the AK resort but wont arrive till afternoon on the first day. What do you suggest we plan that afternoon? we dont want to use one of our park hopper entries. 3 nights AK - 4 night cruise - 3 nighs GF

    Hi Colleen - I hope you love the Animal Kingdom Lodge - that's one of my favorite resorts of all time. 

    I completely understand that you don't want to use up a ticket for the first night.  I have two suggestions for you, depending upon your interests and the time that you arrive.

    One suggestion is to go to the Downtown Disney area.  There's so much you can do there, from shopping to dining to entertainment, and most of it doesn't require admission fees (there are some exceptions). 

    Another suggestion is to spend the evening at the Animal Kingdom Lodge resort.  There are some great restaurants (Boma and Jiko are two of my favorite restaurants at all of Walt Disney World) and lots of trails where you can walk and see the animals at the resort.
