Jambo, Christy! It's great to see you hEAR again at planDisney.
Christy, my family adores
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, so I'm thrilled to chat with you about all there is to see and do. This resort truly is a destination in itself and I'm excited for you to experience all the culture and activities that make this resort extra special.
My first recommendation since you're traveling with younger Mouseketeers is to search out the activities board or list as soon as you check-in. These will be things like craft times that wouldn't be listed on your
My Disney Experience Mobile App. For example, when my family visited, I remember a "Wildlife Game" time where you could learn about different species on the savanna in a fun way!
Next, Christy, if a self-guided resort tour (or scavenger hunt) isn't included on the activities calendar, make sure to ask about that separately. While I can't guarantee it's active, in the past, some resorts have offered a self-guided seek and find tour with a small prize at the end. My kids most recently this at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and had a blast discovering unknown things about their "home away from home."
If your little ones are animal lovers, make sure to chat with the Cast Members outside near the animal overlooks. My kids spent time every day of our stay learning just by talking with these knowledgeable Cast Members! They even have complimentary Wildlife Field Guides available in your room or at the main desk in the lobby.
Christy, I hope this helps as your excitement is building for your upcoming trip. Wishing you a vacation full of more smiles and laughs than a pack of hyenas! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come back to the Pride Lands...
oops! I mean, planDisney.
