Staying at A of A. We have ADR for MBYBBQ @ 6:30. What is the best way to get from the resort to Fort Wilderness Resort? Is there a boat from MK? What time should we plan to leave our resort to make it on time? Thanks!

    Hi Kyle!

I am sooo jealous!  Disney's new Art of Animation Resort is brand new and completely amazing!!!  Mickey's Backyard Barbeque is a hootin' and hollerin' good time and the food is plentiful and yummy.  While there is a boat from the Magic Kingdom, it is not the fastest route from your resort.  The quickest way to get there is to hop on the bus to Epcot and then transfer to the bus heading to Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  This will take you around 40 minutes, not including the time you spent waiting for transportation.  Once you arrive, you will need to wait for another bus to take you to the Settlement and then you will need to walk to the pavillion where the BBQ is held.  This will take you another 30 minutes or so in total.  Whew!

I would allow yourselves 90 minutes to reach the actual spot of the festivities.  However, I would plan on arriving early to check in and get a good table.  While dinner doesn't start until 6:30 PM, you can check in as early as 5:30 PM.  Yahoo!
