Howdy, Erin!
A warm welcome back to planDisney and thank you for bringing us your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. It looks like your memorable visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is only a month away - yee-haw! I bet you're counting down the days until your arrival.
Erin,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of my all-time favorite Disney Resort hotels. From the moment you enter the grand lobby area, you're immediately transported to the splendor and majesty of America's Great Northwest! Apart from the splash-tastic pools and delectable dining options at the Resort hotel, I also love its location. From Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you're just a short ferry boat or bus ride away from
Magic Kingdom Park! I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who informed me that, depending on times and crowds, some buses running between Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Wilderness Lodge do make stops at
Disney's Contemporary Resort, while others do not, but this is subject to change. In general,
complimentary bus transportation between Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Wilderness Lodge runs approximately every 20 minutes, beginning about 45 minutes before the
early theme park entry period and ending about one hour after the theme park closes (or
extended evening hours conclude, on select nights).
Another fan-favorite form of Walt Disney World Resort transportation is
Disney watercraft. Though hours of operation may vary and depend on weather conditions, watercraft transportation between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom Park runs approximately every 15-30 minutes and does not include a stop at Disney's Contemporary Resort. However, if you're hoping to access Disney's Contemporary Resort from Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you can always take the bus or boat to Magic Kingdom Park, then either walk or hop aboard the
Resort Monorail to reach your destination! If you plan on spending some time at Disney's Contemporary Resort, I highly recommend having breakfast at
Steakhouse 71. Their delicious Steak and Eggs dish is my favorite breakfast meal in all of the Walt Disney World Resort!
Erin, I hope this information has been helpful to you as you continue to prepare for your unforgettable visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. I'm wishing you the rootin'est tootin'est time! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to gallop on back to us here at planDisney again anytime!
Happy trails,
Lauren
