We stayed on site in 2014 and have magic bands. We are planning a trip the end of April off site and was wondering can we use the same magic bands from 2014? Also can we link dinning reservations to the magic band if we are off site? Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amy!

You are just a few weeks from your magical vacation. I bet you’re getting more and more excited as your countdown progresses. Have you started packing yet? Be sure to throw in loads of extra smiles. You will definitely be needing those!

Amy, MagicBands are said to last for up to two years. I have a few that are older than that and still work. I would recommend bringing them with you but also having a backup just in case they aren’t active anymore. If you haven’t done so yet, create or log into your My Disney Experience account. This wonderful planning tool will be your one-stop-shop when it comes to all your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation plans. From booking your FastPass+ and Dining Reservations to having access to Park Maps with step by step directions, Park Hours, browsing your Disney PhotoPass photos and so much more. The MDE mobile app is available to download on your smartphone and is for all guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.

One you have your My Disney Experience all set up with all your reservations and tickets linked, visit the tab that says MagicBands and Cards. There, you will be able to see if your MagicBands from your previous trip are still active. If they aren’t, you can activate them right on the site with a simple click.

I hope you have a magical visit and that there’s still some pixie dust left on your MagicBands! Please do come back and see us again soon. We’d love to help you plan your next magical vacation!
