We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last Summer and really liked it, but the rooms were a bit small for my family of 5. We are planning a trip for 2012. My kids will be 16, 14, and 5 then. Which deluxe resort would give us the most space & ammenities?

    Hi Jen,

If you are looking for a fairly traditional hotel room at a Deluxe Disney resort, I suggest you book a room at Disney's Polynesian Resort.  I stayed there in January and was very impressed with the square footage in these guest rooms.  There are two queen-size beds and a day bed so five could be comfortably accommodated.  The amenities at this resort are pretty amazing, too.  I bet your children will love the Nanea Volcano Pool at the center of this resort.  It is spectacular.  The dining options are abundant and nothing beats being just a quick monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom!

If you think you might enjoy even more space in your room then I suggest you consider a one- or two-bedroom villa at one of the resorts run by Disney Vacation Club.  The one-bedroom villas at Bay Lake Tower have two bathrooms and sleep five comfortably.  You can literally walk from your hotel to the Magic Kingdom from this resort.  My favorite option, however, would be to stay in a two-bedroom villa at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  We stayed in one of these accommodations with a party of seven and couldn't believe how much space we had (in addition to a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and private laundry facilities).  This resort is a four-minute bus ride from the Magic Kingdom and is, in my opinion, the most beautiful and well-themed of Disney's extraordinary resorts.

From the options I have provided, I'm certain you can find a room that will be just perfect for your family.  Don't hesitate to post additional questions if you have any.

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
