Hi Sarah,
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is my family's favorite Disney Moderate Resort hotel. It boasts a Mardi Gras themed-pool featuring King Neptune riding atop an impressive 51-foot-long snaking sea serpent slide. Furthermore, it has a
fabulous water play area that is conveniently located next to the whimsically-themed Doubloon Lagoon.
The idea of using the pool facilities at a different Disney Resort hotel, other than the one you booked, is generally
not permitted. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule of complementary alternative pool use. As it happens, "pool hopping"
is allowed between Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter and Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
The "pool hopping" benefit between the two sister-resorts will also grant you access to the 6 splash-tastic fun pools at Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. You'll find 3 in Alligator Bayou, 2 in Magnolia Bend and Ol' Man Island – which is fashioned after an abandoned sawmill. Therefore, if you book a stay at either resort, your family will be able to enjoy 7 pools altogether!
All of the above being said, the "pool hopping" perk between the two sister-hotels can exclude peak periods, when Walt Disney World Resort reserves the right to restrict pool access only to Guests staying at a specific resort. To find out about pool-access availability, please check with a Cast Member at the time of your visit.
Wishing you a splash-tastic time at the place where
The Magic is Endless!
