Welcome to planDisney, Theadora!
It sounds like you are planning the most magical of trips. I've recently returned from a stay at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and I absolutely fell in love with this hotel. The South Pacific island theme is extremely relaxing and romantic. The Lava Pool and Oasis Pool are both wonderful. The dining options are terrific.
Capt. Cook's is one of my favorite quick-service dining locations in Walt Disney World Resort.
Kona Café is amazing (get the Tonga Toast!). But the highlight for me is
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. This themed bar is so much fun and the drinks are delicious. My favorite drink is the Spiced Island. Here's a tip: Ask about the secret drinks menu. This bar is very popular and there can be very long wait times to get a seat. Therefore, make sure you put your name on the list as soon as it opens at 3:00 PM. They'll call you back when a table is ready. You won't regret it!
Theadora, you'll be pleased to know that Disney will transfer your luggage to
Disney's Beach Club Resort on the day you check out. It's really convenient if you want to visit a theme park on your check-out day. Simply bring your luggage to Bell Services (or ask them to come to your hotel room) and let them know which hotel you'd like your luggage transferred to. You can then go and enjoy your day and a few hours later your luggage should arrive at your new "home." Luggage usually arrives before 6:00 PM. You can pick it up from Bell Services at your new hotel. Just make sure you keep your luggage ticket so you can claim your stuff back. I've used this service many times and it's so helpful.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Theadora. Have an awesome trip!
