Heather from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have never stayed at a Disney resort before. Witch hotel resorts are DVC? And can I stay in one as a non member?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Heather!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  Oh boy, you are in for quite a treat when you stay on property at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel.  As a Disney Vacation Club Member, I love chatting with Guests about the benefits of being immersed in the magic at a Disney Vacation Club Resort.  You get all of the pixie dust of a Disney Resort Hotel with the added benefits of your home away from home.

You do not have to be a Disney Vacation Club Member to book one of the DVC Resorts.  So no matter which one you choose, you are a welcome Guest wherever you may roam.

Heather, let's start by chatting about why being a Guest at a Disney Resort Hotel is practically perfect in every way.  As an onsite Guest, you enjoy the benefits of complimentary Resort transportation to all of the theme parks.  You also enjoy extra time in the theme parks with Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Theme Park Entry for Guests of Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels and Disney Deluxe Villas, which helps you maximize the magic.  As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you also get extra benefits like the opportunity to make Advance Dining Reservations up to 60 days in advance for the entire length of your stay, the use of MagicBands for easy room and theme park access and for charging purchases, and early access to Individual Lightning Lane Entry purchases.

Now, the benefits of staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort add even more magic to your vacation. Not only are you immersed in the legendary magic and storytelling of a Disney Resort Hotel, but you also have the addition of home away from home amenities.  For Deluxe Studios, this means kitchenettes and some basic gadgets and gizmos which can help you enjoy simple meals like breakfast and snacks right in your room.

For One-Bedroom Villas and larger, you can enjoy a full-sized kitchen, with whoozits and whatsits galore, so you can have full meals.  There is a living room area for gathering your 'ohana for family time and an in-room washer and dryer.  This means you can pack less and have more room for your Disney souvenirs.   Our family loves the One and Two-Bedroom Villas for those additional amenities.

To book a stay at one of the incredible Disney Vacation Club Resorts at the Walt Disney World Resort, first, log in to your My Disney Experience account.  Next, hover over the "Places to Stay" tab and click "Deluxe Villas." From here, you can search for availability and book your stay. As I mentioned above, Heather, if you'd like to have a full-sized kitchen and a washer and dryer right in your room, be sure to book a One, Two, or Three-Bedroom Villa.  If you don't need as much space, the Deluxe Studios, which can accommodate up to five people, have a kitchenette and a living area, where you will feel quite at home.

I hope this helps you find your dream Resort for your Disney vacation. If I can help answer any more questions about staying at a Disney Vacation Club Resort, come back and see me here at planDisney and I will be glad to help you.  I hope you have so much fun making magical memories at a Disney Vacation Club Resort hotel.

    See ya real soon!
