We stayed at Contemporary Resort last spring, we booked a garden wing room and was pleasantly surprised when we got there and was upgraded to a tower room. What are the chances of getting a free upgrade again?

Hi, Angie!  Wow!  What a great magical moment that must have been to be upgraded to the Tower!  The views from the Tower rooms are just amazing!

While I am so glad that happened for you, I have to say that it does not happen that often.   During many times of the year, resorts are booked to capacity making upgrades impossible.   I always book a standard room and am rarely disappointed in them, and if that magical upgrade happens, I see it as a real bonus to my trip!

When checking-in, it never hurts to ask for an upgrade.   I asked on my last stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and they upgraded me from a Standard View to a Pool View.  Not a huge difference, but the location was great!   Be polite to the cast member when asking, and be understanding when and if they cannot accommodate your request.

Good luck to you on your future stays!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
