Hi Melanie,
Disney's Beach Club Resort is one of my favorite places to stay while vacationing at Walt Disney World. With its enviable location on picturesque Crescent Lake, convenient access to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and charming coastal decor, the Beach Club is pretty hard to beat!
Like you, I am a big fan of the newly updated room decor, with modern, sophisticated touches and new charging/USB ports. As luck would have it,
Disney's Beach Club Villas also just completed room updates last year, once again resulting in a more modern and streamlined style. Personally I now find the decor elements and palates very similar between the two sister properties.
While Standard Rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort and the Deluxe Studios at Disney's Beach Club Villas each sleep up to 5 guests, the main differences relate to bedding arrangements and room amenities. All Deluxe Studios at Disney's Beach Club Villas feature a queen bed, double sleeper sofa, and bunk-sized pull down bed. In contrast, Standard Rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort have a variety of different configurations, including two queen beds or one king bed, with some rooms also having day beds and/or sleeper chairs.
Mini refrigerators and coffee makers are found in Standard Rooms at Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Yacht Club Resort, as well as in the Deluxe Studios at Disney's Beach Club Villas. However, the Studios also contain a toaster, microwave and small kitchen sink. Apart from these differences, these Resorts feel very similar and all share many of the same Resort amenities, including access to the incomparable Stormalong Bay!
I can't wait to find out which Resort you prefer after you have a chance to try the Villas for yourself next spring!
Trish
