Have stayed at AK and POLY as a family of 5. We now have an infant which makes us 6. LOVE POLY and am considering GF for next trip (Nov '09). Would we be equally happy with PO as we have been with the Deluxe resorts? Might be an oppy to save some money?

There is definitely a difference between the moderate resorts and the deluxe resorts as I'm sure you know.  Especially considering the fact that two of the deluxe resorts you mention are on the monorail line and therefore offer very convenient travel options to the Magic Kingdom.

That said, I'm a huge fan of Port Orleans Riverside and I feel that of the moderate resorts, Port Orleans Riverside most lends itself to the feel of a deluxe resort.  Like the deluxe resorts, Port Orleans Riverside offers a lounge where guests can unwind with a drink at the end of a long day.  Both French Quarter and Riverside also offer convenient boat launches for transportation to Downtown Disney.  Additionally, there are many opportunities for recreation at Port Orleans Riverside including: surrey bike rentals, horse drawn carriage rides, fishing hole, and even a Pirate cruise for children.

Some of the drawbacks of a stay at Port Orleans Riverside versus a deluxe resort are:
    -smaller rooms
-double beds as opposed to queens
    -fewer dining options
-fewer transportation options to theme parks

Port Orleans Riverside is truly a gorgeous resort--one that my family fell in love with during our stay there two years ago.  While I wouldn't say that it can compete with the deluxe resorts as far as amenities, I can certainly tell you that it competes as far as value for the money spent.  Ultimately, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons with the vacation budget and see which is a more important factor in ensuring a magical trip for your family.  Good luck.
