Hey there, hi there, ho there, Stacey! You’re as welcome as can be. Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you decided to stop by with this great question. I love staying within walking distance of the theme parks! Just last week I was there for a quick visit and stayed in one of my favorite
Good Neighbor Hotels.
Stacey, I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the
Good Neighbor Hotels – this is a collection of Disney approved hotels very close to the Disneyland Resort. Very few people know there are 57 Good Neighbor Hotels! Several of them are just across the street from the main entrance to the theme parks.
There is a helpful
Good Neighbor Hotel map on the
Disneyland Resort website to get your bearings on the exact locations of the hotels. Though most of them look very close, when you're thinking of getting to the main entrance by foot there are certain hotels that will get you there faster than others. If you’re looking for the shortest walk to the theme parks’ main entrance, you can start by checking out the Good Neighbor Hotels on South Harbor Boulevard close to the intersection of the “East Shuttle Area.” There is a stoplight here and this is where you would cross the street to enter the walkway taking you to the main entrance. The
Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn is directly at that intersection.
I was at Disneyland Resort earlier this week and stayed at the
Fairfield Inn by Marriott Anaheim Resort. This is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel to the theme parks’ main entrance. My fitness app tells me it’s about a half mile door to door. I have stayed at this Good Neighbor Hotel at least ten times and love it for a few reasons. I find this property to be very clean, safe, cheerful, and the prices are reasonable. In the off season I can typically find a room under $200 per night, and in peak season closer to $250-300. The rooms are recently renovated, spacious and comfortable for my family of four (a standard room has two queen beds plus a single sofa sleeper.) The lobby has a fun Disney feel to it and you can pay a little extra for Disney themed hotel rooms as well. They have both self-parking and valet, they have a quick-service restaurant on site, and you can store your luggage there safely after checkout if you plan to spend time in the theme parks.
There are a million things I love about the Disneyland Resort and one of them is the recognition that Disneyland Resort Hotels (which are absolutely wonderful) may not fit everyone’s budget. I love that they offer so many Good Neighbor Hotel options just steps away from the parks!
Stacey, remember to pack a reusable water bottle as many of the water filling stations are open again. This will keep you hydrated for your busy day! You can pack some snacks in your bag to bring inside with you, but save room for Disney snacks too! My personal favorites are the classic churros and popcorn, as well as the
Mickey-shaped beignets at Mint Julep Bar. The souvenir popcorn buckets are a great way to take home some magic with you (my buckets have been known to store everything from crayons to cookies to lollipops – they are extremely versatile!)
The magic awaits, Stacey! Have a lovely time on your vacation!
