Hey Howdy Hey, Kurt!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. How exciting that you are staying at
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness for your upcoming Disney vacation. I visited some friends staying there last year. What a wonderful way to have your home away from home nestled into the relaxing environment of nature, while being close to the magic. It's the best of two worlds!
Kurt, I just spoke with a Cast Member named Magnolia at Guest Services. Since you are staying at Fort Wilderness, she told me that you can park in the main parking area at the Outpost Depot, near the entrance, if you would like, and then catch the
complimentary bus transportation to the theme parks. I would double-check this with the Front Desk when you arrive to confirm this will be okay and to inquire if you need anything in your window so they know you are a Guest of Fort Wilderness.
Now, if you don't want to drive your car, you can
rent a golf cart to use on Campground grounds, or use the internal shuttle within Fort Wilderness, so you can leave your car at your cabin. There are shuttle stops throughout Fort Wilderness, so there will surely be one near your Cabin. You won't have to giddy-up in your walking boots!
Here's a tip for you, Kurt. If you are looking for a fun thing to do in the evening, don't miss
Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Singalong! What better way to wind down a fun Disney day than with your favorite chipmunks in their home forest? It's a great way to make fun family memories in this special Resort.
I hope this helps you, Kurt! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, mosey back here and I'll round up your answer. After all, you've got a friend in me.
Happy Trails!
Keri
