If we stay in at WDW resort for the first 3 days of our week long trip, and off site for the last 4, will we be able to book meals for all 7 days at the start of the reservation window or just the days we are on site?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Craig!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  When it comes to planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, my favorite part of the whole process is making my advance dining reservations –– not only do I love dreaming of all the fantastic meals that are in my future, but making those reservations really helps to anchor my plans for each day of my visit.  Let me share a few details about the booking process for dining reservations to help you prepare for your upcoming trip.

While all Guests can book Walt Disney World advance dining reservations up to 60 days in advance, Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel get a little extra pixie dust when it comes to scoring a table.  That's because Resort Guests can book dining reservations up to 60 days from check-in for their entire length of stay (up to 10 days).  However, this special booking window is only available for the dates between checking in and checking out of your Disney Resort.  In other words, if you're checking in to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel on September 10th and transferring to an off-site hotel on September 13th, you'll be able to make reservations from September 10th-13th at the 60-day mark. After that, you'll be able to make reservations for the rest of your trip as those dates cross that 60-day line.

While it might feel like Walt Disney World dining reservations go very quickly when the booking 60-day window opens, don't get discouraged if the table you're looking for isn't available right away –– availability is changing all the time and there's a great chance that you'll see something open up before you arrive.  Just be sure to keep checking back regularly and be flexible with your times (and even your dates).  Because reservations have to be canceled before midnight on the day of the reservation to avoid a fee, it's even possible to snag a last-minute reservation in the 72-24 hours before you plan to dine.  Recently, I was even able to grab a coveted reservation for Space 220 Restaurant only a few days in advance –– let me tell you, it felt like winning the dining lottery!  So, with a little persistence (and a lot of refreshing), you might just be surprised with what pops up.

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Craig.  No matter where you dine, I'm wishing you delicious dishes from start to finish during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
