Hi Cory and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you stopped by with your Disney Cruise Line question. In just a couple of months, you'll be welcomed aboard the Disney Wonder by Captain Minnie! I'm getting excited for your family just thinking about it now.
With so much to do and see onboard the
Disney Wonder, I understand why you are wondering if you can stay on the ship for extra time to explore while the ship is in port. And the great news is, you absolutely can! There is no requirement to disembark at all, and a day when the ship is in port leads to fewer Guests on board. It's a great time to enjoy
onboard activities, catch a movie, take a walk around the Promenade Deck, visit
Senses Spa or the Fitness Center and even check out the adults-only
Quiet Cove Pool while the kids are in the
Oceaneer's Club.
A cruise on the Disney Wonder is sure to impress, and I'd love to make a few personal recommendations for some of my favorite activities onboard. First, if you have any fans of Frozen in your sailing crew, the production
Frozen, A Musical Spectacular that is held in the Walt Disney Theatre is not to be missed! On my recent sailing, it was offered two nights in a row to allow for social distancing measures to be followed and to give an opportunity for all Guests to enjoy it.
Next, I recommend that you give many of the onboard activities a try, and early on in your voyage! You'll never know what will be a big hit for your group, and some of the activities are offered more than once. My children especially enjoyed the interactive games in the
D Lounge. Once you are on the ship, you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to view the itinerary of activities for each day of your sailing, and even "favorite" those activities that you are interested in. The app will remind you when your favorites are beginning soon so you won't have to miss one bit of the fun.
Finally, I highly recommend booking a dinner or brunch at the adult-exclusive restaurant,
Palo. The dishes are delectable and the service is superb. Dining in Palo is a highlight for me every time I cruise with Disney. Another highlight specific to the Disney Wonder is the opportunity to eat in
Tiana's Place! With live entertainment, delicious food (try the sea bass!), and an overall great party atmosphere, this restaurant in your
dining rotation is not to be missed. You can check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (once onboard) to see which evening you'll be dining with Tiana and to view the menu in advance.
Cory, I hope that your time on the Disney Wonder is full of happiness, laughter, and amazing memories! Please cruise back to planDisney if you have any further questions. It's a pleasure to help!
Happy planning!
