Where should I stay for Princess Half 2024? I am not a morning person so I want to choose a resort (Contemporary, Beach Club, & French Quart, etc) that is the closest to the start line and that I won't have to deal with missing a bus/full bus.

    Royal greetings, Jess!

Welcome to planDisney. We're delighted you've brought us your exciting Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! As a fellow runDisney enthusiast and 2024 Disney Princess Half Marathon registrant, I'm thrilled to hear you're gearing up for an enchanting race weekend. The countdown is officially on! Jess, I'm happy to help you prepare for a memorable runDisney experience.

You've made a great decision to stay at a Disney Resort hotel. As you know, complimentary charter bus transportation is provided between the Resort hotels on property and race weekend events, including the races, Disney Princess Yoga, and the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo. Jess, though specific transportation details haven't yet been announced for Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, in previous years, Guests staying at the Resort hotels surrounding Magic Kingdom Park have been able to utilize the Resort Monorail/EPCOT Monorail to access the start line. (You can check out the transportation details for the 2024 Walt Disney World Half Marathon for reference!) My family has decided to stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort during next year's Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend based on the ease of this transportation option. (Not to mention, Disney's Contemporary Resort offers Guests the ultimate convenience for spectators hoping to catch their loved ones running down Main Street, U.S.A.!) Of each of the Resort hotels surrounding Seven Seas Lagoon, this one offers the most direct access, as it's only one stop away from the Transportation and Ticket Center and a quick transfer away from EPCOT. I'm happy to inform you that, at the time of writing, it appears that Disney's Contemporary Resort still has availability remaining for the night before the Disney Princess Half Marathon!

Jess, in my opinion, the wake-up call for runDisney events always feels too early... I'm not a morning person either, except for runDisney events. However, the energy and atmosphere in the staging areas are sure to get your adrenaline pumping before you cross that start line! Have you considered how you'll celebrate once you've completed those 13.1 magical miles? For me, there's nothing like unwinding with a champagne toast at Enchanted Rose and a relaxing afternoon at The Grand Floridian Spa after a runDisney event. How will you mark your monumental accomplishment!?

I hope you've found this suggestion useful, Jess. I wish you the very best with your race training and a magical and memorable Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend! If you have any additional planning questions ahead of race weekend, you're always welcome to revisit planDisney. We're here to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacations - every step of the way!

    Wishing you miles of magic,

    Lauren
