Hi Lisa,
How wonderful that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your grandson! My grandmother accompanied me on my first trip to Walt Disney World Resort forty years ago and I still remember the glow of the fireworks on her face as we watched them together from the balcony of Disney's Contemporary Resort. I'm so grateful for those memories. I guarantee that the time you spend with your grandson will be long remembered.
There are a wide range of
services available to Guests with hearing disabilities at Walt Disney World Resort, including handheld captioning and assistive listening devices. Guests can pick these up at Guest Relations at the four Disney theme parks. You can request the schedule for sign language interpretation at shows by sending an email to WDPRsignlanguageservices@disney.com or you could pick up a copy of the schedule at a
Guest Relations location.
I have good news about the guest rooms at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. There are Disability Access Rooms in the preferred sections of both of these hotels. Room communication kits can be installed in these rooms. Just call (407) 934-7639 to make your request. If you'd like any additional information about the services available to your grandson, call the Cast Members at Disability Services at (407) 560-2547. I have found them to be incredibly helpful.
Enjoy every minute with your grandson. They grow up much too quickly. Don't they?
Sending best wishes and pixie dust,
Jill
