Hi! We will stay at Port Orleans and arriving at 3:00pm and not have a rental car. How long is the bus ride from Port Orleans to the Boardwalk? Also, we will have our 4 year old& 8 month old. Do you recommend Boardwalk or DD?

Hi Elaine, welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel!

Disney's Port Orleans Resort is my family's base resort, offering great comfort and value.
We have stayed at this resort with and without a rented car, and both times had a great time.  Still, with a rented car we were able to sleep longer and spend more time at the parks.  Commuting was very comfortable and relaxing.

Disney Bus Transportation does not connect directly between resorts, so connections at a park, Downtown Disney or the Transportation &Ticket Center are required.

Bus rides between resorts and parks can take from 30 minutes up to 80 minutes (or more!) - depends on season, time of day and chance.
If making connections, commuting may take more than 2 hours.

Taxis are a great option for the few times that you may need connections or be in a hurry.  These are easily found at resorts, parks (except Magic Kingdom), Downtown Disney and the Transportation & Ticket Center.

Glad to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
Hope to hear again from you.
