I want to stay in the Polynesian with my family, but we always stay at the Beach Club. What advantages does the Poly have over BC? My kids don't want to give up Stormalong Bay or proximity to Epcot, but I want to try something new. Help me convince my kids

Hi, Taura! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my absolute favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotels. No worries, Taura - I got this!

As soon as you walk into the lobby of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, your kids will see how amazing this place is. You are greeted by Cast Members who welcome you 'home' with complimentary flower leis. Be sure to pay a visit to the lobby tiki statue and take some fun pictures!

Stormalong Bay is pretty amazing, so I can see why your children would have some reservations. Do you know what it doesn't have though? A Volcano. Your children can take a dip in the newly renovated Lava Pool and slide down the side of a volcano!

If they enjoy being able to walk to Epcot, they will love taking the Monorail or even a boat right to Magic Kingdom Park! This is very convenient for my family, as we spend most of our Theme Park time at Magic Kingdom Park.

If your children are a bit older, they are sure to enjoy a late afternoon visit to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. Guests under 21 are allowed in between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. My boys love the non-alcoholic themed drinks and being able to experience the exciting atmosphere of this lounge.

Another unique feature to this Walt Disney World Resort hotel is it is right on the Seven Seas Lagoon, offering a view of Cinderella Castle. You can watch the Electrical Water Pageant at 9:00 p.m. nightly right from the beach. Don't go too far as you can also watch Wishes nighttime spectacular from the same spot!

There are also amazing dining experiences at this hotel, including 'Ohana and Kona Cafe. You can also have dinner and a show at Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.

    I hope this helps, Taura!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
