Hi Janine! Welcome back to planDisney.
You are going to love your stay at
Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This groovy hotel is such a fun blast from the past and trip down memory lane – I love to wander through the decades and check out the larger-than-life icons throughout the grounds. There are so many great touches and Disney details everywhere.
You have a couple of different options when it comes to requesting a particular building at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. If you book in the
Preferred Room category, you’ll be assigned a room in the 50's, 60's, or 70's sections of the resort; the Preferred Rooms in these buildings are closest to the lobby, dining, and the Hippy Dippy Pool. It’s a little confusing because Preferred Rooms can be found in several buildings, and the buildings house both Preferred and Standard rooms – it’s all about proximity to the main building and pool.
If you have a particular building in mind, your best bet is to call and speak to a Reservations Cast Member at (407) 939-1936. They can make a note on your file that you prefer a particular building. While these requests can’t be guaranteed, the room assigners do try to honor your wishes when they can.
You’ll also have an opportunity to note your preferences when you complete
Online Check-In. You can complete Online Check-In by opening My Disney Experience and navigating to "Resort Hotel;" you'll see "Start Online Check-In Now" when the process is available for your stay. The section of the Online Check-In process where you make room and building requests is “Room and Amenity Requests.” For Disney’s Pop Century Resort’s Online Check-In, you’ll be able to note a preference for a particular section, based on decade. There are also requests like “close to transportation” and view options, and you are allowed to make up to two requests. Again, requests can't be guaranteed, but it never hurts to ask. Online Check-In is a fantastic option because you can bypass the front desk when you arrive; your room number will show up in your
My Disney Experience mobile app on your arrival date when the room is ready, and you can use your MagicBand or
smartphone to unlock the door. Magic!
Have a totally tubular time during your stay at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Janine! One of the great perks of staying at this resort hotel is access to the
Disney Skyliner, which is a great way to travel to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. My family loves gliding through the sky above the Walt Disney World Resort, and I know you will too!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
