We want to stay 9 nights, we would like to stay in 2 different Disney Hotels. (Animal Kingdom & Beach Club) We want to purchase a 9 day Park Hopper + pass and a dining plan for the length of stay. Can we do that without dividing our dining and tickets?

    Hi, Matt!

We've had a split stay (dividing your stay between two or more resorts during a stay at Walt Disney World) several times, and the only tricky part is your Dining Plan. However, if you're aware of the one possible complication, it's very easy to avoid. No problem! Book your split stay! :-)

Your Park Hopper Passes can be applied to your Key to the World Cards at the first resort; then, when you switch over to the second resort, the concierge can add the remainder of your Park Passes to your new Key to the World Cards. Easy, peasy!

With the Dining Plan, though, it's a little different. Your Dining Plan entitlements expire at midnight on the night of your check out. Thus, any unused entitlements will be wasted if you don't use them by midnight on the last after you check out of that first resort. Again, just be sure to a) use those snack credits during the first portion of your stay and b) use the last few Quick-Service and Table-Service entitlements from the FIRST Keys throughout that entire day after check-out. Keep your new Key to the World Cards in the envelope you receive them in, away from the others, so that you have them for charging purposes and if you're ready to "spend" new snack or QS entitlements, but don't accidentally use them when you meant to finish up expiring entitlements.

IF you find that you haven't used up all of the snack entitlements (or even QS) do NOT let them go to waste. Once you've checked into the second resort, there are lots of items in the resort shop or even counter service location that will enable you to stock up on items that you can enjoy in your room. I've picked up bottles of juice, chocolate milk, breakfast pastries, fresh fruit and crackers with "leftover" snack credits during a split stay, just because I knew that the family would enjoy these items and we've already paid for them through our Dining Plan.

Send more questions about this or any aspect of a trip to WDW, Matt! I love to help!
