Howdy, Sinead!
Extra Magic Hours gives those who are staying at one of the Walt Disney World resorts complimentary access to one of the theme parks either during the morning hours or evening hours. The calendar, which you can find on the Disney website or mobile app, will indicate which park is having Extra Magic Hours on a specific day and will give the time in which the park will be open. Currently, this is only available to guests who are staying on property.
If you're staying one of the Disney Springs hotels, the Four Seasons, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek or the Waldorf Astoria, Extra Magic Hours is available.
There are other events such as
Disney After Hours, which is offered at the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. An additional ticket is required for each guest to experience this nighttime, 3-hour event. Attractions are open with little to no wait time, as well as most dining locations.
There's also Early Morning Magic, which also requires the purchase of a special event ticket. Early Morning Magic has been offered at the
Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland and
Disney's Hollywood Studios in Toy Story Land. With this event ticket, you'll have access to the attractions located in Fantasyland or Toy Story Land, along with complimentary breakfast.
Sinead, maybe one day in the future Extra Magic Hours will be offered to guests who stay off property if you find that you have more planning questions and want more information on either Early Morning Magic or Disney After Hours.
Happy planning!
