    We're going to stay at Jambo House (AKL) for our next trip to WDW with our boys (3 and 5). What kinds of activities are there for the guys at the Lodge? Thank you.

    The Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my family's favorite Disney Resorts. You will find a variety of activities to keep your children entertained. In fact, depending on the length of your vacation, I would consider scheduling a day at "home" to explore the resort.

    Upon entering the AKL Jambo House, your family will be mesmerized by the dramatic lobby expertly themed and filled with African artwork, artifacts, a fireplace, and huge windows. After your children take in the atmosphere, they'll probably notice the TV playing non-stop classic Disney movies in the lobby. They likely won't get sucked into the 'toons for too long as the AKL Jambo House is home to the 11,000 square foot Uzima pool. The pool boasts a 67-foot slide as well as a tyke-friendly wading pool area. Not far away is a kids playground. There is also Pumbaa's Fun and Games Arcade.

    As you check in, request an activity guide from the front desk for a schedule of organized activities. Although subject to change, we found the following programs, among many others, available during our last stay: ceramics, cookie decorating, face painting, animal tracking, pin trading, African folktale storytelling, and trivia (similar activities are available at AKL Kidani Village). A highlight of our last stay was our kids taking part in the evening "Primal Parade," a noisy but quick march through the lobby led by a Cast Member where children banged drums and rattled shakers. The general age range for most activities varies from 4-12 years old, although everybody is invited to join in the fun.

    The resort is home to a children's activity center, Simba's Cubhouse, which is generally open during late afternoon and evening hours for children 4-12 years old.

    AKL is also laid out brilliantly with many windows along the hallways overlooking the savannas. As we walked to our hotel room, we usually stopped to watch the animals walking through the savanna.
