If I just want to stay in hotel and go to a waterpark is that ok I don't want to go to the rides my son can't handle but he loves the waterpark and your reorts

Hello, Debra! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney. Thanks so much for dropping by with your question.

Debra, as a guest who always plans rest days where we focus solely on our Disney Resort Hotel, I appreciate this question! One of my favorite things about the Walt Disney World Resort is knowing that I don't ever need to step foot in a theme park to have a Magical time. So... let's dive into a non-park visit!

First, the quick answer to your question is YES, you are welcome to stay at a Disney Resort Hotel and skip park tickets. If you're hoping to catch up on some rest and relaxation, you'll find great ways to unplug and recharge at your resort. However, if you'd still like to participate in some activities, I have a few suggestions!

Since you mentioned waterparks, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is the perfect place to cool down, but with excitement! I'll also encourage you to check out the activities calendar at your Disney Resort Hotel. You'll find a plethora of activities (some complimentary, some with an additional fee). One of my family's favorites is Mickey Tie-Dye by the pool! For a small fee, Cast Members taught my kids how to create custom t-shirts that we brought home as a souvenir.

Debra, you may also want to consider visiting other Disney Resort Hotels for a meal. For example, you could book a lunch reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, spend some time shopping at the resort or touring the grounds, and then take a roundtrip ride on the monorail before heading back to your resort for the day.

I'll also encourage you to check out the Enchanting Extras Collection. While these activities do come with an additional fee, you'll find opportunities outside the parks (like miniature golf, fishing excursions, archery lessons, fireworks experiences, and so much more) that might add an extra sprinkling of pixie dust to your trip!

Debra, I hope that your resort-only vacation is... in the words of Mary Poppins... practically perfect in every way. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where we are always happy to see a returning guest.
