If I stay in a hotel in Disney I can get in the parks early and be at the rope drop early is this right are all rope drops at the same time

Hello, Rodney, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

As a Guest at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll have access to a variety of perks--including Extra Magic Hours. Each day, one of the four Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks opens an hour earlier or stays open up to two hours later for Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests. “Rope drop” could mean the time the Park opens for morning Extra Magic Hours, or it could refer to the opening time for the general public. Each Theme Park opens at a different time each day, so your best bet is to check the Park Hours online or through your My Disney Experience mobile app. While Park Hours are always subject to change, they’re generally published 180 days in advance.

Extra Magic Hours are only one benefit of staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel, Rodney. You will also be able to book your FastPass+ experiences up to 60 days in advance of your check-in date. If you plan to be up early in the mornings and at the Parks in time for morning Extra Magic Hours and/or rope drop, my suggestion would be to book those FastPass+ experiences for late morning/ early afternoon. At most Parks, you’ll be able to ride a number of attractions with lower wait times first thing in the morning, so take advantage of those queues early and save your FastPasses to use later for those attractions that typically have longer waits at all times of the day (including Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Slinky Dog Dash at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Test Track or Soarin’ Around the World at Epcot and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park).

Using Extra Magic Hours in conjunction with your FastPass+ experiences is a great way to minimize your wait and maximize your fun during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

Let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you, Rodney. We’ll see you real soon!
