Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Georgina!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sailing by with your question. How exciting that you are dreaming of a pirate's life for you, with a
Disney land and sea adventure. Our family has done this a few times, and it's the best way to be part of two worlds!
Georgina, while it sounds like you will be dropping your anchor using your Disney Vacation Club Membership to stay at the Grand Floridian, unfortunately, parking at Disney Resort Hotels is limited exclusively to Resort Guests during their stay while on-site. This is due to limited parking spaces at
Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels. You can certainly park your rental car during your stay; however, unfortunately, you won't be able to leave your rental car there during your sailing. However, when you are setting sail on your adventure, Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation is a super easy way to take your vacation from the parks to the port. It is our family's preferred way to get to the cruise terminal.
Now, if you plan to captain your own transportation to get to the cruise terminal, the drive from Walt Disney World Resort to Port Canaveral is super easy!
The Port Canaveral Port Authority operates parking garages directly across from the Disney Cruise Terminals. No reservations are needed and you can pay with your pirate booty when you arrive. It is easy to carry your luggage and treasures from your car to the terminal, or you may drop off your luggage and then park your car.
When you disembark, your car is right there in the parking lot for you. It will make it easier for you to disembark and head to your next destination.
I hope this helps you, Georgina! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, sail back here to see me. I'll be happy to help you find the treasures that you seek!
Anchors Aweigh!
