Hiya Andrea,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited to chat with you about your question today!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is one of my favorite resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. I love the nods to the Victorian era in the decor, and being able to walk to Magic Kingdom is a definite perk.
Speaking of perks, the pools are also incredible! My Mouseketeers love the Mad Hatter’s hat and the splash pads. Unfortunately, Andrea, pool usage is reserved for registered Guests of the resort hotels. So, unless your friend is listed on your resort hotel reservation as a Guest they would not be able to visit the pool with you. The good news is that you can add an additional Guest to an existing reservation pretty easily if you would like, as long as it doesn’t exceed the maximum room occupancy. You can do it
yourself through My Disney Experience or reach out to a Cast Member over the phone in
Tickets and Hotel Reservations for assistance.
I hope this was helpful, Andrea. Before I let you go, if your friend isn’t able to join you at the pool, there are still some other ways you both can enjoy the Grand Floridian together without them being a registered Guest. You can make reservations at one of the incredible choices, such as my favorites
Grand Floridian Café, the newly reopened
Garden View Lounge, or
Citricos. You could also book a
spa experience if you want something more relaxing. With those reservations, your friend can park at the resort for up to 3 hours, leaving time to walk around and explore! If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
