I love staying at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, as well as
the campsites. It is such a unique experience that feels like being in the great outdoors, while you're actually just around the corner from
Magic Kingdom Park! I'm so glad to hear that you'll be taking your dogs this visit. Our furry friends are important members of our families, so it's really fun when we can include them in our vacations.
The website states that dogs must be on a handheld leash no longer than 8 feet. (To see this, click
this link and scroll down to Pet-Friendly Policy.) The
Pet Policies document says that pets should be on a leash or in a carrier when outside your cabin or climate-controlled RV but doesn't mention cables specifically. The most important rule is that you are with your dogs at all times while they are outside, and that they do not interfere with other guests' experience.
Dogs can be left inside your cabin for up to seven hours. If you need to leave them for longer or if they don't do well alone, I suggest checking out
Best Friends Pet Care. You are a seasoned Walt Disney World veteran, so you may be well familiar with this option. I have heard great reviews from family members who have left their beloved dogs here at times. They offer so many services, including grooming, enrichment services, and transportation!
