Howdy, Teresa and welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! I have been camping there since I was a little girl and love taking my own kids now to make new memories at the Fort. Whether it's staying in a tent or "roughing it" in a cabin, we always have the best time there.
One of my favorite things to do at Fort Wilderness is joy ride in a golf cart, especially after the sun goes down to look at all of the beautifully decorated campsites that have lights and inflatables. I'm really amazed by some of the campers who go all out with their decorating. You can certainly bring your own golf cart when you're staying at Fort Wilderness and you'll see that lots of Guests do and decorate them as well. There should be enough room at your cabin to keep your vehicle, trailer and the golf cart, but if you need more room, you can leave your trailer in the parking lot at the Outpost Depot near the front entrance. If you choose to leave your personal golf cart at home, you can
rent a golf cart there. Advance reservations are highly suggested as they do tend to sell out.
Be sure you check out
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long while you're there! Bring your own fixins for s'mores or purchase them at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar. It's always such a fun time hanging out with Chip and Dale while roasting marshmallows by the campfire. If anyone in your group is interested, the
Fort Wilderness Archery Experience is awesome! My son has done it a few times and was hitting the bullseye by the end each time. My daughter loves to go
horseback riding there as well. There are so many fun and exciting things to do at Fort Wilderness!
