We want to stay at Fort Wilderness, but away from barking dogs - can you give us some ideas of which loops are the best. Or is there enough trees/shrubs as a sound buffer for loops that are close to pet loops?

Hi Tammie! Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite spots to stay in while on vacation at Walt Disney World. It is very peaceful and brings a whole new atmosphere to the family after a busy day in the parks.

There are many great options for families in the various loops. Cabins are in the loops 2100-2800 but they do not allow pets at any time. Campsites are in loops 100-2000 with loop 1500 and 2000 being tent loops and they also do not allow pets. The pet loops are 300-900 and 1600-1900. Some of these loops will be either the full hookup or the preferred loops.

There is quite a bit of a buffer between the loops with trees and shrubs. It is what I love about the campgrounds as you don't feel like you are stuffed into your site with your neighbor only a handshake away. My favorite non pet loops would be first the 1100 and then the 1000 loop as they are close enough to the trading post and pool to make them very convenient. When you make your reservation be sure and request a non pet loop as you could easily be assigned something in a pet loop since many campers do not bring their four legged friends.

We do bring our pets and we have never had an issue with barking dogs. We have heard a dog now and then if we pass by a recreational vehicle but have never had dogs near us that continually bark and cause a nuisance. Disney is pretty strict with their pet rules and they would certainly address a guest who is disturbing the other campers with a noisy animal. Even though we are dog owners I certainly can understand you not wanting to be close to any barking animal.

My choice for a request would be Loop 1100....no pets and it has big wide sites!
