can I stay in dvc room for cash not points

    Hey There, Pat!

As a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, I'm happy to say "Welcome Home" to planDisney!  Thanks so much for stopping by with your question today.  How exciting that you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort visit for next February –– with mild weather and crowds that are often smaller than that other times of the year, late January and early February are one of my favorite times to experience The Most Magical Place on Earth.  But before you can plan all the details of your visit, you'll need to find somewhere to stay, right?  Let me share a few details about the cash-stay options available to Disney Vacation Club Members to help you find the perfect Resort for your visit.

When Disney Vacation Club Members choose to exchange their Vacation Points for other Disney Destinations –– like setting sail with Disney Cruise Line or blasting off to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser –– it creates cash availability at DVC Resorts (it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the basic idea).  When this happens, these rooms become open up to reserve for cash, rather than Vacation Points.  So to answer your question, yes –– Disney Vacation Club Members can choose to use cash, rather than Points, when staying at a DVC Resort.

There's more good news, too. In addition to having the option to use cash, DVC Members can also take advantage of specially-discounted rates when they book these rooms.  So not only with you be able to experience the magic of a Disney Vacation Club Resort without tapping into your Points, but you'll also be able to save some money in the process –– how cool is that?!  Discounted cash stays can be booked up to 11 months in advance of check-in (with the exception of The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa) but they're subject to availability, so I recommend reaching out to Member Services at (800) 800-9800 as soon as possible to see what your Resort options are for February 2023 and to book your stay.

While there's never any shortage of fun during a Walt Disney World Resort visit, there's something extra special going on at EPCOT throughout January and February –– the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.  With incredible artists showcasing their work in visual, performing, and culinary art mediums, there's so much to see and experience. And my favorite part? You can even catch some of Broadway's biggest stars, live on stage, during the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series.  While details for next year's event haven't been released yet, be sure to keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog as your visit approaches for all the latest festival news.

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Pat.  If you think of more questions as your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit approaches, I hope you'll come back again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
