Hello! You’ve brought a great question to planDisney!
Knowing how and when to use your Disney Parks tickets is important when planning your magical getaway! I’m happy to help!
There are two answers that I am going to provide to your question. The first will be for if you purchased your tickets as “stand-alone” tickets (without a room and ticket package). The second will be for if you purchased your tickets as part of a room and ticket package from the Walt Disney World Travel Company (i.e. you booked your room and ticket package through the Walt Disney World Resort website or over the phone with a Walt Disney World Resort Travel Company Cast Member).
If you purchased just theme park tickets – When you purchase a multi-day park ticket, it will have a start date and an end date. You don’t have to use the ticket directly on the start date, but you must use your entire ticket between your start date and end date timeframe. Disney Parks tickets are valid for use beginning on the date you selected. The tickets must be used with the “valid use period” provided at the time you purchased the tickets. If you purchased a six-day ticket, the ticket will expire nine days after the selected start date. For example, a six-day ticket starting August 1 is valid any six days from August 1 to August 9.
If you purchased your tickets as part of a
room and ticket package through the Walt Disney World Resort Travel Company – the theme park tickets are valid for use on the date of check-in and must be used by your check-out date, or in accordance with the validity window of your ticket which I included above – whichever period is longer. You would need to use your six-day ticket any time between your vacation check-in and check-out dates.
I hope this is helpful information! Please come back to planDisney if you have any additional questions!
Happy Planning!
