We want to stay at Disney's campgrounds, we were wondering if anyone has used an outside RV rental co which comes out and sets everything up for you at your campsite? I have seen a few online and was just wondering if this is common for the campgrounds.

Hi Maria!  I have probably stayed at Fort Wilderness as much as anyone else on the panel so will tackle your question.  We have our own large motor coach so have not used such a service but have talked with others who have. Some have been pleased and others have found it just ok so do your research and ask many questions before deciding on the company to use. Also call Fort Wilderness and ask to speak with a manager who can give you insight to companies that they have found to be successful. 407-824-2900

The most important point to consider when renting is the quality of the vehicle.  Ask about maintenance and the speed of repair should something happen during your rental time.  Ask what is included such as linens, towels, dishes and kitchen and bath equipment.  During hot months make sure you have an ample AC unit or heat during the cooler months for the nights. Make sure the company does not simply drop the vehicle off at the site and then leave without a training session. Although RV's are not difficult there are some bells and whistles that are a little different. You will want to understand the plumbing and sewage above all else!

When making your Fort Wilderness reservation be sure to understand what kind of site you are reserving and what size of vehicle you are renting as you won't want to arrive to find it won't fit.  Fort Wilderness will not give you a campsite number until you arrive so there will either be a wait time for your vehicle to arrive or you can have it waiting in the parking lot if the company will agree to that. Nothing can be set up until you actually check in at the front gate.

Some companies to consider include: Moore Camping Rentals, mcrfl.com, Camp At The Fort, MyRVHotel.com, and CruiseAmerica.com.

Good luck and if you have any other Fort Wilderness questions just let me know as I would love to help you plan your vacation!
