We are going to stay at the Disneyland hotel for our family's summer vacation! On our first day there we are hoping to have family come and visit us at the hotel, is that allowed and are there any restrictions on what they can do-ie pools, etc.?

Welcome to planDisney, Jacob! Thank you for bringing us your question. I am happy to help you!

I am so excited for you and your family to visit and stay at the Disneyland Resort this summer! I am not sure if you have ever stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, but as you will soon experience, it is MAGICAL. My family and I had the pleasure of staying there just last week and had the best time!

Regarding your question, I called reception and spoke to a Cast Member on your behalf. She stated that you are welcome to have guests visit you during your stay. Unfortunately, she also mentioned that your guests are not allowed to use the amenities, e.g., swimming pools, etc. Nevertheless, I am happy to suggest activities you can all enjoy at the resort!

I will begin with dining. My favorite restaurant at the hotel is Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. You do not need reservations to dine here. Just walk up to the host stand near the entrance of Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar to request a table. My favorites are the Hawaiian Platter and the Dole Whip Float!

If you are looking for a delightful Character Dining (breakfast or dinner) experience, look no further than Goofy's Kitchen. Some of the characters you are likely to see are Goofy (of course), Chip and Dale, and Minnie Mouse! I recommend making a reservation--you can book as early as 60 days in advance. The wide array of buffet options makes this a fantastic choice for families.

Next, shopping! One of the most unique retail stores at the resort is Disney’s Fantasia Shop, located in the Fantasy Tower. As soon as you walk in, you will feel like you stepped back in time--in the best way! Available for purchase are Disneyland Hotel and Tiki-inspired clothing and home goods. They also offer clothing, accessories, and toys.

I also recommend checking out Downtown Disney District with your guests. No ticket is necessary to enter! You will find dining, shopping, and entertainment. I especially love the entertainment at Downtown Disney LIVE! stage. I recommend keeping an eye on the Entertainment Schedule as your arrival date approaches.

Jacob, I hope you find this information helpful. If you have any more questions before your trip, please come back and ask. We love to help!

    Your Pal,
