Do you have to stay at a Disney resort to visit the parks?

Welcome, Jessica. Thank you for taking the time to stop by planDisney and I’m happy to hEAR you’re planning an upcoming trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s right around the corner!

Regardless of whether you stay at one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels or off-site, you’re definitely welcome to visit the theme parks. Just be sure you have a park reservation prior to your visit. Due to the pandemic and its impact on park operations, all Guests must have a valid park admission and park reservation for each day they plan to visit.

Making a park reservation is fairly simple, and you can do that via the Disney Park Pass system. When you have purchased your tickets, be sure they are linked to your Disney account. Once linked and you’re ready to make your park reservation, you’ll be prompted to create your travel party from your Family & Friends list. Click on the lucky folks who will accompany you on your magical adventure then press “Continue”. Choose the date and theme park you’d like to visit, then carefully review your selections. When everything looks correct, just click “Confirm”. Please note that theme park selections and dates are limited and subject to availability. The sooner you make those park reservations for the dates you’d like to visit, the better! Once your park reservation is confirmed, you will be able to view this in My Plans (both online and in My Disney Experience mobile app). You’re all set and ready to enjoy the magic that Disney has to offer.

I hope this information is helpful, Jessica. As always, if you have any further questions, please swing by planDisney again.

    Have a magical day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
