If I stay at a Disney resort hotel and want to get tickets to the parks for a week do I pay all up front or can I do payments? Also do you have a military discount for spouses with valid ID?

Welcome to planDisney, Amber! I’m Shantel and I will be more than happy to help you kick-start your vacation planning. As a military spouse myself, I would like to begin by sending a huge thank you from my family to yours. “Thank you!”.

Now when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you do have a few options. If you book a vacation package, which includes room and tickets, you can hold your reservation with a deposit as long as it is booked at least 30 days before your arrival. You will need to pay off your balance before your arrival. How you choose to break up your payment is completely up to you! For my last visit, I just called every couple of weeks to make my payment. It was so nice to break up the total cost and have it all paid for before we arrived.

Amber, you also have the option to book your room and tickets separately with the military offers. Walt Disney World Resort offers both specially priced tickets and discounted rates at select Disney Resort hotels for Eligible Service Members and/or their spouses. If you choose to book this way, tickets will need to be paid in full at the time of purchase. I usually visit my U.S. military base ticket office to purchase our Military Promotional Tickets. You will also need to call (407) 939-7830 to book a military rate Disney Resort hotel. Again, as long as it is 30 days before your arrival, you will be able to make payments towards your room balance.

Amber, I hope this helps get your planning started. Please be sure to let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you along the way.

    See ya real soon!
