I would like to stay at the disney campgrounds in our pop up camper. Do you recommend a certain time of the year? Does it get cool in the evenings during the "winter season"?

    Hi Jessica,
I have always wanted to camp at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds!  Although I have not had the pleasure (yet), I am a camper here at home so I think I can give you some insights.

Of course it will all come down to your preference (cold tolerance), and if you have heating in your camper!  Here are some average nightly temperatures:

    January - 48* (Degrees Fahrenheit)
    February -49*
    March -55*
    April - 60*
    May - 66*
    June - 72*
    July - 73*
    August - 73*
    September -72*
    October - 66*
    November - 57*
    December -51*

But keep in mind that these are only averages.  Last winter, south Florida saw January and February nighttime temperatures in the mid to high 30*'s!

I hope this helps in your decision making.  Have a great time together with your family!

Walt Disney World stole my heart when my parents introduced me to the magic the year it opened. I fondly remember my first 'Mickey Mouse in a Glass House' balloon! I still visit with my parents-and now with my husband and our two teens. Learn More About Lynn
