Epcot Monorail around Spaceship Earth

Carol from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We are going to stay at the Contemporary Resort Hotel in April. Our 4 year old twin grandchild will be introduced to Disney! Is there an easy way to enter the back of Epcot so we can get to the Frozen attraction more quickly?

    Hiya, Carol! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your question with us. A kiddo's first visit to Walt Disney World is a magical occasion, and I’m so glad you get to experience it with your grandchildren. Let’s take a look at your transportation options and make sure you all get to hang out with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf as quickly as possible!

First thing, make sure you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded to your mobile device. Not only does it allow you to make reservations and manage your tickets, but it can also provide step-by-step directions and travel time estimates to most locations around Walt Disney World.

It’s important to remember that transportation options and travel times will vary based on the date and time you’re visiting. At the time I'm writing this, the My Disney Experience app estimates it's an 11-minute walk from the International Gateway or EPCOT's main gate to Frozen Ever After. Given that you are coming from the Contemporary Resort, I'd suggest going through EPCOT's main entrance rather than trying to find a roundabout way to the International Gateway entrance.

When visiting EPCOT from the Contemporary Resort, your best option is to take the Monorail from your resort to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From there, you can transfer to the EPCOT Monorail line. My Disney Experience currently estimates it to be a 47-minute journey to get from the Contemporary Resort to Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, which includes walking time.

If your grandchildren are big Frozen fans, then you want to miss For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Hollywood Studios or Elsa’s float in the new nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. And if you’re looking for tips and tricks for visiting Walt Disney World with little ones, be sure to check out the planDisney video library.

Carol, I hope this info is helpful with your vacation planning and that you have an amazing visit with your family. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have more questions. You’re as welcome as can be at planDisney!

    Magical travels!
