Hi Mary!
Ahoy and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, fellow Texan! Your
WONDERful Very Merrytime Voyage is coming up so soon and I know you must be so very excited! My family is also headed on the Disney Wonder next month for the holidays and we can’t wait! My boys are eager to see the holiday decorations and the huge gingerbread house in the atrium onboard! And, I must admit that I am looking forward to a holiday where someone else does the cooking!
When you are onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship there are a couple ways that you can keep in touch with others onboard. Each stateroom has two Wave Phones in them for Guests to use and you can utilize them to call or message other Guests onboard. Additionally, you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to communicate via the messaging feature on it. We have found that since we always have our phones with us to access the schedule on the Navigator app, we use the messaging feature on the app more often than we use the Wave Phones.
If you need to contact others back on land while you are at sea you can either make phone calls directly from your stateroom (please note that charges do apply) or use your cell phone service when you reach a port of call. Depending on which cellular provider you have will determine how you can best reach those back home, so if necessary, I recommend contacting your provider to ensure that you will be able to use your phone when you arrive at your destinations! Additionally, there is
Wi-Fi available onboard and you can purchase a Connect@Sea package to access the Internet while at sea.
I hope that this information adequately answers your question, Mary! If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to visit us again!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
