Hi, we have a stay booked for Port Orleans Riverside, but I have just read quite a few complaints about the beverage station for the refillable mugs. Please can you tell me if they will be adding Coke freestyle machines like other resorts? Thanks

    Hey Cheryl,

Welcome back to planDisney! I am thrilled that you have a future Walt Disney World visit in the books. Having a visit to look forward to makes my heart super happy, so I hope it does the same for you. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is a fantastic choice for your stay. This resort has great dining options and cool recreational activities. My friends and I stayed here for a girls' weekend and really had a great stay! We loved Boatwright’s Dining Hall where you can find comfort food in a casual setting overlooking the Sassagoula River. We also enjoyed the Horse-Drawn Excursion –  Carriage Ride which takes you on a relaxing carriage ride along the beautiful banks of the Sassagoula. Advance reservations are recommended for both of these experiences.

Cheryl, I do have to let you know that you are correct – there are no Coke Freestyle Machines at this resort, so fountain beverage options for your resort-refillable mug at Riverside Mill Food Court (the quick-service option) might be somewhat limited. If it’s super important to have more options available, then you may want to consider changing resorts for the sake of convenience. Resorts that currently have Coke Freestyle machines are Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Resort Island Tower, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.

French Quarter is Riverside’s sister resort – as a Riverside guest you are able to utilize the food court at French Quarter, so if you had a hankering for a beverage one evening and needed some variety you absolutely could travel to the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory to refill your mug. As a matter of fact, you can visit any resort with a Coke Freestyle machine to refill your resort-refillable mug anytime during their operating hours. So if you really want to keep your Riverside reservation, you can keep this information in your back pocket during your stay.

Cheryl, I hope this information is helpful. Please visit us again here at planDisney if you have any additional planning questions. TTFN… ta-ta for now!
