Hi! We have a stay booked in a few weeks at the Boardwalk Inn. I am considering canceling our room and booking a 1 BR DVC villa with a garden/pool view. I don’t want to do this if we won’t be in a newly renovated room. Are these renovations complete?

Hi there, Holly! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I see that you are arriving at Walt Disney World Resort this very week, so we don't have a moment to lose! I'm happy to track down an answer to your question--let's get right to it.

One of the best parts of Disney Vacation Club Membership is having access to deluxe-level accommodations with all of the comforts of home. Whenever we stay at a DVC Resort, I'm always impressed by the condition of the rooms and grounds--those dues are being put to good use! All of the DVC resorts are on a scheduled, regular rotation of refurbishments and renovations to keep them looking ship-shape--and Disney's BoardWalk Villas has been getting its glow-up recently.

Holly, I spoke with Member Services, who shared that renovations are still ongoing for the 1-Bedroom Villas. If you decide to switch your reservation from the hotel side, my best advice is to contact Member Services and ask them to add a note to your DVC booking requesting a renovated room. The Cast Members at the BoardWalk will do their best to make magic for you, but keep in mind that this request can't be guaranteed.

As you well know, the location of the BoardWalk cannot be beat! I'm sure you will take full advantage of the short walk to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. We also like to walk over to Fantasia Gardens Fairways and Miniature Golf for a friendly round or two. In the evenings, Jellyrolls is a great spot for an adults-only outing. This piano bar is a blast, and you will be amazed at the skills of the dueling pianists. Make sure to arrive early to grab a table, and come with a couple of song requests!

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Holly. You'll be at The Most Magical Place on Earth so soon--I'm sure you can't wait! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please stop by anytime if we can help with any other questions.

    Stay Magical!
