We have a stay booked for december at AKL Jambo House and it will be our first time as DVC members! Since the resort is still primarily closed, will they still decorate it for the holidays? I was so looking forward to the big tree! It’s why I booked AK!

Hello, Stephanie and from one Disney Vacation Club Member to another, let me offer you a warm "welcome home!"

Stephanie, just thinking about snowflakes on Main Street, U.S.A., holiday ears and Christmas trees in my favorite Disney Resort Hotels is putting me in the holiday spirit! Is it too early to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol? If you can't already tell, I love the Christmas season as much as Olaf loves summer! Now that I have my cocoa ready, let's talk about your reservation at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House!

Stephanie, my family and I took our "welcome home" stay over the holiday season (a few years back) and selected Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge for exactly the same reason- those gorgeous decorations and towering tree. To your question, I just spoke with a Cast Member from Guest Services about your inquiry and as of today he said there was no word yet on decorations at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Stephanie, while there is a possibility this means a tree won't be up, it also means there is a possibility that it will! If the year 2020 has taught us anything it's to practice patience and to keep asking questions. So for now, I'm sorry that I can't give you the resounding "YES!" I was hoping to, but I do have a few recommendations while you wait for news.

First, make sure to bookmark the Disney Parks Blog. Here you will see all types of holiday announcements from festive food to happenings at resorts. Stephanie, I'll be crossing my fingers that Tinker Bell will sprinkle some pixie dust over the Savanna and you'll see a post letting you know that a Christmas tree will be waiting for you at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House.

My next recommendation would be to consider booking a few dining reservations in other Disney Resort Hotels. Stephanie, in addition to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, in the past, beautiful Christmas trees have been up at places like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the newest Disney Vacation Club property, Disney's Riviera Resort. Dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe or breakfast at Topolino's Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera might be a welcome addition to your itinerary so that you can soak up even more holiday Magic!

Stephanie, I hope you'll come back and see us here at planDisney closer to your trip with any other questions you might have.

Wishing you a holiday filled with joy, wonder and of course... Magic.
