Hi Claudia,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I just got back from a fabulous stay at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and as Sebastian the Crab would say, “life is the bubbles” in The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms. We loved it!
I’ll be honest, I have read several reviews of The Little Mermaid rooms that said the walk from that area to the main building was long. However, my family did not mind the walk at all. We are pretty fast walkers, and we do a lot of walking when we’re “on land,” but the walk took us no more than 5-8 minutes. The grounds of the resort are beautifully themed, and you will talk through The Little Mermaid, Lion King, and some of Finding Nemo on your way to the main building. To my knowledge, there is not an internal bus that takes guests from the front of the resort to other resort areas, though if you are driving your own car you’ll be able to park closer to the building you are staying in.
Claudia, I hope you love your time in your Little Mermaid room. There are so many charming details in the room – you'll be singing "look at this stuff, isn't it neat?" just like Ariel as you search the room for hidden Mickeys and special nods to Ariel and her friends.
The Flippin’ Fins pool is great because it’s quieter than the main pool and conveniently located, but be sure to check out the Big Blue Pool (there is a hidden surprise under the water) and the Cozy Cone pool. Be sure to take lots of pictures with the movie icons all around you as you explore the resort!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
