Walt Disney World Resort is big. How big? At approximately 40 square miles, Walt Disney World is about as big as Buffalo, NY, and it’s larger than the city of Miami, FL. Even seasoned explorers sometimes need help with directions.
The first thing you’ll want to do is make sure you have the My Disney Experience app downloaded to your mobile device. Not only does this app allow you to access PhotoPass photographs, manage your tickets, and make reservations, but it can also provide step-by-step directions and travel time estimates to most locations around Walt Disney World. Since you are staying at Art of Animation, your primary option for getting to Hollywood Studios will be the
Disney Skyliner. These aerial gondolas will take you from your resort to the station at Caribbean Beach Resort, and then you’ll transfer to the Hollywood Studios Skyliner route. At the time I’m writing this, My Disney Experience is estimating this to be a 23-minute journey.
It’s important to remember that travel times and route options will vary depending on the date and time you’re visiting. Complimentary bus service is sometimes provided from Art of Animation to Hollywood Studios. For example, the Skyliner will be
closed for refurbishment from January 24 to January 31, 2026 (availability and schedules are subject to change), and the bus will be your primary transportation option. Just check My Disney Experience before you head out, or talk to a helpful Cast Member at the front desk, and you’ll be all set.
If you’re looking to arrive at Hollywood Studios in style, you may want to consider booking a
Minnie Van through the Lyft app. This private transportation option will pick you up in front of Art of Animation and take you directly to Hollywood Studios, or other Walt Disney World Resort hotels and theme parks.
