We want to stay at the Art of Animation, but i have heard the Suite beds are not intended for adults. And the adults going in our party are all over 250 pounds. I know it has a queen and pull outs. Any Suggestions? We need a relatively cheap room.

    Hi Shawna,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We get a lot of questions about bed sizes, so let me see if I can be of help.

The suites at Art of Animation are designed for six people. You are correct that there's a queen-sized bed in the bedroom. The sofa in the living room area folds out to a standard double bed, and there's that cool pull-down bed over the dining table. I called Art of Animation about the weight restrictions for another guest recently and was told that the pull-down bed is designed to hold two adults weighing up to 180 pounds each or a total of 360 pounds.

If that doesn't work for you, you might consider getting two adjoining rooms at one of the value resorts, where the rooms are each equipped with two double beds. I'd recommend Pop Century, which is adjacent to Art of Animation.

If you need queen-sized beds, you can move up to the moderate resorts, where each room has two queens. Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite moderate, but you sometimes can get a better price at Coronado Springs, which is also nice.  If you need more bed space, at Port Orleans Riverside, most rooms also have a pull-down bed that's designed for a child or a smaller teen.

I hope that gives you some direction. Please feel free to write me back with more details about your party size and needs if you need additional assistance. Wishing you a magical -- and comfortable -- stay at Walt Disney World.
