Would like to stay at Animal Kingdom. Need 2 rooms for 4 adults. Any suggestions for cutting expenses, staying 8/25 to 9/3/2010?  Would like dining plan included. Please help. this would be my 20th trip ''''

    Patricia,

AKL is a deluxe resort so the prices will be higher. Disney has announced their special offers for the summer months (click here ) but the travel dates end just before your trip (April 11th - Aug 14th) & must be booked by March 27th. You may want to hold off just a little while to see what (if any) offers will be announced for fall. When booking, keep in mind that room without a savanna view will be less expensive. Also chose the least expensive dining plan that suits your needs.

If you are an AAA member, keep an eye on any specials they may be running. Check out www.mousesavers.com . If you are a Chase Disney Rewards Visa cardholder, check their deals. Remember they offer discounts on tours & merchandise. If you don't have one get one & use reward $ on your trip.

Other ways to save: Save before you go & start a Disney trip fund. Eat in & put the $ would have spent in the fund. Use coupons & put $ you saved in the fund. Save your change. Here's a question I answered about saving $ on dining that may be helpful if you opt not to include the dining plan - click here. If you do decide on the dining plan, instead of a desert, grab a muffin for breakfast or late night snack.

Before your trip, purchase rain gear, laundry supplies & sunscreen. Bring your own refillable water bottle. Take advantage of free activities at WDW - walking around DTD or Boardwalk or hiking at the Wilderness Preserve. Plan your budget & stick to it.
